Green Mountain Monarch combines my love for my home, Vermont, with the idea of growth, transformation, and building something beautiful from the ground up.
When I was a kid, every late August, we’d go “caterpillar hunting” and find local monarch caterpillars. Back in the early 2010s, the airport had fields upon fields of milkweed behind it. It looked like it went on for miles, granted I was like three feet tall at the time. Whether it was with my mom, dad, grandma, brothers, or childhood friends that lived close by, it always felt like an adventure.
Monarch butterflies are facing serious population declines, and life as a tiny caterpillar is not easy. Eggs and caterpillars may be lost to predators, disease, pesticides, severe weather, or a shortage of healthy milkweed before they ever have the chance to become butterflies.
Caterpillar hunting gave us an opportunity to observe and care about the monarchs living around us. When we responsibly raised a small number, our goal was to provide fresh milkweed, a clean enclosure, and protection during their most vulnerable stages before releasing healthy adult butterflies back outdoors.
Monarchs also remind us that growth cannot be rushed. It takes time for a caterpillar to grow, form its chrysalis, and eventually emerge ready to spread its wings. In a world that often encourages us to move quickly, their transformation is a beautiful reminder to be patient with ourselves, appreciate each stage, and make room for slow, meaningful growth. Just like a monarch, this business is beginning small and taking shape one stage at a time. It started with a dozen cookies shared with coworkers, grew into a collection of original recipes, and is now becoming something much bigger.
Cookies are only the beginning. We have plans to expand into new products, new partnerships, local stores, and experiences that bring people together. Every step is part of the transformation, and we believe the best things are built with patience, care, and the courage to keep growing.
A monarch reminds us that growth does not happen all at once. It takes time to develop, change, and eventually grow your wings.
That is what Green Mountain Monarch stands for: starting where you are, believing in what you are building, and making room for something beautiful to become even bigger than you first imagined.

For the best texture and flavor, keep your cookies sealed in their original packaging at room temperature and enjoy them by the date printed on the label.
To bring back that fresh-from-the-oven softness, remove the cookie from its packaging and warm it in the microwave for approximately 8–12 seconds. Heating times may vary, so start small—you can always add a few more seconds.
Want to save one for later? Our cookies can also be frozen in an airtight container or freezer-safe bag. Allow the cookie to thaw at room temperature before warming and enjoying.
Please never microwave the cookie inside its packaging—microplastics don’t taste good.
